Buying a player who doesn't fit with the style (high energy) that Silva says he wants us to play, would raise serious questions about our new manager. Not sure it's a like for like. Although similarities.
We aren't playing City every week though.

I don't really think he's similar to anything we have at the moment. Closest in style would be Schneiderlin. If you want options for that role then there aren't many who do the role better. There’s no assumption about it, I’ve watched him play and I don’t see how he has the legs to cope with the pace of the PL.
His he an upgrade on what we have? No
Could his ambled approach to runners have a negative affect on us? Yes
True, but William looks as though he couldn't "stop a pig in a jigger"No but you described Martina as mobile and said he’d protect the back four better when he blocked 2 crosses all season.
But he does for with the style. You need someone deep to control and shield if you are playing high, Carvalho does that.Buying a player who doesn't fit with the style (high energy) that Silva says he wants us to play, would raise serious questions about our new manager.
Energetic he isn't though.Unless someone runs directly at him he isn't going to shield anyone. And even then...But he does for with the style. You need someone deep to control and shield if you are playing high, Carvalho does that.
It's more about the space he occupies than if he will charge about after the ball. Davies will charge about all game chasing air.Energetic he isn't though.Unless someone runs directly at him he isn't going to shield anyone. And even then...
He is a unit that occupies space, but you can say that about a wardrobe. It's just a media driven rumour anyway,I'm sure we'll be linked with quite a few more Portuguese players before the window closes. It's more about the space he occupies than if he will charge about after the ball. Davies will charge about all game chasing air.
So how's he going to cope with the top 4 from last season then.....
He also let Iniesta get past him, Can't have that. Quite shocking from Willy C.There’s no assumption about it, I’ve watched him play and I don’t see how he has the legs to cope with the pace of the PL.

If you are pressing higher up the field your DM can sit deep and if you are sitting deep if someone goes past them then the CB pick them up.
He obviously has no pace, but he has ability on the ball, passing and positionally.
I'd be worried about his pace in the PL but he didn't seem lazy yesterday, just slow. And lots of good players have been slow in the PL.
I said he looked decent?

Which says it all really.James McCarthey could do a far better job if he could stay fit.
