He give the "Lescott" vibe to me.

Loads looked at him but never took the risk then boom 1st teamed and the rest we don't need to go into (City, Shedloads of £££, Villa, Tweet pic of his car)

Reminds me a bit of ya ya toure. Not as much a goal threat as him but keeps it simple and a good passer. Always available and pushes the team forward. Should suit a team playing 2 wingers.

...reminds me of Toure too. Good footballer but my concern in our side would perhaps be a lack of mobility as he doesn’t look the quickest.

Odd that Silva was quoted as saying he has not spoken to Brands about any players in the Portuguese league yet this now surfaces. Carvalho has played for Silva before as a key member of a Cup winning team.

If we sign a younger version of Yaya Toure I'd be made up.

Anyway weren't you supposed to be on your hols eggs?

Rubbing suncream onto Mrs E , that sort of thing.

If he was a younger version of Yaya I don't think you would see anywhere near the current level of moaning and groaning. I still think we should get him in as he looks a decent player and you just know if we don't he is guaranteed to go on and have an amazing world cup.

He turned 26 in April.

He isn't that slow.

He's excellent on the ball.

He's a big, physical and powerful player - which our midfield lacks.

If he was brought in to play a box-to-box role, I think we'll be disappointed. If we do get him, though, and he's utilised as a midfield anchor/pivot, he'll improve us.

I posted about him years ago...brilliant player in sportings system BUT the one concern is his acceleration.

Strange really as he looks like he would be an ultra powerful player but perhaps because his positioning is so good it isnt noticed.

Might as well sign Grimaldo too, while he's out there.

Hope so

Wouldn't even be part of early negotions I reckon. Brands' job now.

Former player...silva would meet him

Shows that Silva will use him as a DM sitting anchor /deep lying playmaker in his system...

I think it would be carvalho, a box to box player and an attacking midfielder in a 3

Maybe Silva's off to talk to a few Portuguese players? I don't buy his quotes about not looking at any. I bet he knows plenty he'd trust in our team.
