People complaining he's languid we've had flipping Schnederlin as our pivot, he's worse he barely moves!! I think he would add physicality and passing to that position let's be honest if he had a Kante like engine as well as these skills, he wouldn't be linked with signing with us or West Ham would he?

With all the negativity surrounding carvahlo, if you actually watch him play then you would realize that he can absolutely pick a pass. Saw him lay a few beautiful through balls for gelson martins to run onto. Hes an intelligent player and I'm sure silva already has in his mind how to use him. I watched both of Portugals friendlies this past week and he was very important in the midfield and launched numerous counter attacks with excellent through balls. He's a much better passer than schneiderlin

Yes, I know it's a YT vid.

But look at some of his driving runs on the ball. He's powerful and massive. He may not be the quickest over 10 yards, but once he gets going he's hard to stop. Plus, he has quick feet and a good eye for a pass, so he's not just some slab in the middle.

These are highlights from this season.

Don't post boss YouTube vids unless your gonna back your boy up Toff!!!

Whoever we bring in, if thats what Silva and Brands want and believe he will improve us then thats fine by me.

Reminds me a bit of ya ya toure. Not as much a goal threat as him but keeps it simple and a good passer. Always available and pushes the team forward. Should suit a team playing 2 wingers.

Wow.

Looks like he's finally leaving Portugal at 27 years old.

He's been linked with every team under the sun for the last 7-8 years and no one signed him.

Even more worrying is Jorge Mendes who always moves clients away from Portugal couldn't get this guy out of Sporting in that time frame.

He's slow as a cart horse but he actually looked good in the last Euros when they won it,he was a good shield in front of the back 4,but you see highlight reels of him and he looks so slow, worrying his how is he going to cope in the PL,Silva might have to go with a double pivot just to have someone doing the donkey work alongside him.

I know the Belgium job doesn’t pay that well so it’s nice to see that Roberto is topping up his Russia spends.
Don't worry fella he's still got 10m burning a hole in his pocket from FC Everton 1878.

Please dont use the words "double pivot" when talking about Everton tactics/formations.

Thats right up there with your "low block" analysis you spouted in your other favourite thread.

He turned 26 in April.

He isn't that slow.

He's excellent on the ball.

He's a big, physical and powerful player - which our midfield lacks.

If he was brought in to play a box-to-box role, I think we'll be disappointed. If we do get him, though, and he's utilised as a midfield anchor/pivot, he'll improve us.

Well watching BFS paint drying football for 7 months i think we are all immune watching low block tactics.

Now it will be high line pressing and expansive 4-3-3 football hopefully with a Trequartista being the focal point of our attacking play and Carvalho as the Mediana hopefully in a double pivot set up.
