Will Barkley reach the heights Gerrard did?

I think that he needs to play deeper. He should be doing the box to box thing, running at teams from deep positions etc. He is not a No.10 (well not yet).
This, if he can show more reliability and play his natural game, he's far more effective from deeper positions.

He can but he needs to believe in himself and his ability. He's 21 now and by now shouldn't consider himself to be the youngster who'll eventually improve and then get consistent. He has to start putting in MOM performances week in week out. Gerrard at 22-23 was doing that. He took over the title of being Mr. Liverpool from a very early age. Its up to Ross if he wants to be good player, an Everton hero or an Everton legend. Osman was a good player, Cahill was a hero but to become a legend you have to do a lot more. Ross needs to figure that out. First thing's first he needs to develop footballing brains ASAP. I see him as CM in the long run. Him and Mccarthy in CM, some foreign no.10, two wingers. Ross can then burst forward and pick passes.

Without question and better.

What a ridiculous question.

If the bad Englanders leave him to have a summer off, most gifted player of his generation.

He's going to make the PL look easy.

This is the sort of nonsense that has put pressure in him. He's a very average young player, hopefully he can actually earn his place in the team next season, but I suspect that will be a struggle.

He does have vision - I remember his long diagonal pass to put Coleman in late in the derby match.

But he does lose the ball too much. I wonder if Roberto has told him to take people on this season.

He does need to make a greater contribution in every game. I'm optimistic he will improve.

I doubt he reads my posts that closely mate, the lad is world class without question, the most talented Everton player i've seen.

His rough edges are coachable and all in regard to harnessing his talent, anyone who thinks hes average with respect - is of their rocker tbh.

Its funny - i said this time last year he would struggle this season, while people were calling him the saviour of English football, now people are calling him bang average - i worry i really do.

He may be many things but average isn't it.

A Manager who's yet to prove himself in charge of a young talent who could be potentially out of this world...

I see trouble ahead.

No, Ross isn't a game-changer like the diving, referee-intimidating soundrel Gerrard was.
