It's a clichè, but he was the hero we needed at the time. When you can't afford or attract a big name forward, sometimes having a big meat head up front to terrorise (quite literally) the opposition can give you something to cheer for.
Don't think that mentality would be a good fit for a manager though, especially at this level.
Although it would be worth it just to see him fold up Pardew like a napkin and drop kick him back into the dug out for giving him lip! lol
"you're injured, you shouldnt be eating a Big Mac"Haha he beat up a guy who was just doing his job, top lad, what a blue. AM I RIGHT LADS.
Would have loved someone like him playing for us last season.
It's easy to beat people up when you are bigger than them. Just another big bloke, and we've all met thousands, who thinks that because they're big they can do as they please.
I'll batter you m8 stfuThose scots will batter anything
Imagine the article had been about Gerrard instead. Then imagine the comments on here.Yep, and when your part of 'an old boys brigade' who think you eptimize Everton and have the keys to Goodison Park you can get away with doing whatever you want
Was our talisman and for that reason I'm willing to cut him a lot of slack.Hard to disagree, as painful as that feels. He was a beacon, of sorts, in some dark days. But his career v status/earnings, really looks quite poor.
