It was moderately funny until I read this bit

The 46-year-old is a vital member of the Everton backroom staff and has been linked with becoming manager of the club in recent years

I broke my arse laughing at that bit

Shows why his career amounted to sweet fa really, also shows why he shouldn't be anywhere near the club, person in charge of player fitness gives instructions to one of the least fit players and he responds by assaulting him.

Any other workplace he'd be sacked and possibly charged.
Untouchable apparently.

Biggest gravy train in football.

Well he’s certainly intriguing. It was Moyes who brought/allowed him back while he got his coaching awards, and Martinez leap frogged him from u18 to first team. Koeman and Big Sam continued to use him and so far he’s surviving the initial days of the Marco/Marcel regime. We see his title but not what he does, or what he brings to our club maybe those people who see his work on a daily basis have been in a better position to judge him , and that’s why he’s stayed.

I think every man has his demons, his is obviously aggression, to manage that, perform under the intensity of the premier league and to channel it on most occasions to be a 'talisman' for most fans is an admirable quality.
Mental health issues manifest themselves in many ways from outright aggression, to passive aggression that is often seen on media outlets and football forums (self reflection)
I see Duncan as a normal guy who's mangled to do what some of us would love to achieve, yes he has his issues, but I welcome his loyalty, commitment and sentiment in a world of mercenary football.
Better he's one of us than somewhere else.

It's a clichè, but he was the hero we needed at the time. When you can't afford or attract a big name forward, sometimes having a big meat head up front to terrorise (quite literally) the opposition can give you something to cheer for.

Don't think that mentality would be a good fit for a manager though, especially at this level.

Although it would be worth it just to see him fold up Pardew like a napkin and drop kick him back into the dug out for giving him lip! lol

You’ll find that stems from the last page of;

"In search of Duncan Ferguson" by a Dundee/Liverpool fan aint bad. But not that great either.

I must admit to having a massive love for the guy.

This really.
