Why is the prem so cack.

The Prem used to always have the best players.

Henry, Bergkamp, Vieira, Ronaldo, Rooney, all played week in week out.

Mbappe, Neymar, Messi, Ronaldo etc they all don’t bother now. I feel there’s loads of money in the Premier League, and whilst less in Europe, still more than enough to keep the top, top talent.

You can’t sign a Pogba for £89m and stick him in a side with a Phil Jones

I for one think it’s great being so tight, awful when it comes to Everton, but Burnley outmuscling Arsenal and beating united away, and Sheffield Utd 6th? It’s entertaining as hell.

Football is dull because all you have now are a few super teams with most of the best players. Used to be the good players were spread far and wide.

Not really. Even when the Premier was at its peak, the likes of Barca and Bayern had players of the same or better quality.

the original "top four" have fallen off a cliff big big time so the league looks right open now maybe this is how it should've been? (Obviously not with them lot going possibly unbeaten) but I think the modern PL fan myself included has gotten used to the top 4 being united/city/chelsea/spurs then add Liverpool and remove United or Arsenal etc but that's all changed they've all gotten considerably weaker, Possibly exciting times for new teams to make big moves in this league in the next couple of years.
Liverpool were always more of a top 4 team than Spurs for as long as I can remember. Only Man Utd really compete with them size wise.

Yeah, I don’t think points total is indicative to overall quality, whatever the quality of the League, the best teams will prevail. Points will be won whatever the quality. But the general standard of the league is the lowest it’s been, I think that could be said of the whole if Europe. The giants of Munich, Barca, Madrid, Juve, that hoover up all the talent, are all on the wain because the talent just isn’t there. The RS in work say the talent is there but they and City have it and with the money in the Prem, the smaller clubs are buying quality, making it more competitive. Tend to agree with that last bit as the ’quality’ seems to be average and ‘top quality’ is at a premium. 15-20 years ago, we could rattle numerous world class defenders. Stam, Maldini, Terry, Ferdinand, Cannavaro, Puyol, Vidic, Nesta, Lahm, Carvalho, Campbell, Alves. Now? VVD, Varane, Koulibali? Ramos and Pique are past it, grim times for quality. Midfield, Scholes, Keane, Zidane, Gerrard, Kaka, Iniesta, Xavi, Lampard, Mascherano, Makelele, Pirlo, Seedorf, Vieira. Now? I’m struggling to name 2 that stands out, De Bruyne then who?
How could you forget the modern great Morgan Schneiderlin from your list?!?

It isn't. It's far more competitive this season than ever before overall.

Aguero, Kane, KDB, Alison, VVD, Roberson, laporte, Salah, mane, alexander arnold etc are all world class or the best in the their positions.

The prem almost never had the best players in a singular sense.

Past first or 20 years the best player in the world has largely been in Spain really.

Zidane, Ronaldo, Ronaldo, Messi etc

Last player in the prem that was considered the best in the world was Ronaldo, in his last season. Before that?

I would say it's more competitive than ever.

Last 8 years - 5 different teams have won it. With two of them winning it for the first time.

If it wasn't for the RS haven't a utterly freaky season, this season would be considered fantastically close.

To be fair though, Mané, Van Djik, Kante, Kane, Sterling, Aguero, Aubamayang, De Brunye, Bernardo Silva, Alexander Arnold etc can be fairly considered outright world class players. I think it’s a case of the worse teams getting better too. Look how good Grealish is for Villa for example

All leagues are crap. The system is weighted in favour of rich clubs to dominate too easily. We're being primed for a European super league

Why is the system weighed? As a general rule the bigger spending clubs with the financial muscle usually get the larger share of success. Blackburn won the PL on the back of comparably massive investment in players, Man Utd continued to spend during their dominant years and the RS recent success is built on the back of huge outlays.

During our most successful periods Everton were throwing more money around than most clubs.

Henry, Viera and Ronaldo (I'm assuming Cristiano here) were not considered to be the best players in the world when they came to the PL. Even Bergkamp was seen as a gamble. He'd gone to Inter for over 7M Euros and two seasons later joined Arsenal for £2.5M with his reputation having took a battering.

If the Prem had the best players then where were Zidane, Cafu, Van Basten, Romario, Hagi, Nesta, Fat Ronaldo and many, many others?

I do agree though that RS aside it's a healthy sign for a league when the top clubs can't rest on their laurels. The absolutely terrible sides (Swindon, Derby 07/08, QPR 2013, Newcastle under John Carver) are becoming less of a common sight. Weirdly this season even distant bottom of the league Norwich aren't a truly terrible side in the same vein as those mentioned, they can give teams a game.

Van Dijk, De Ligt, Koulibaly, Chiellini, Ramos, Alexander-Arnold, Laporte, Alderweireld, Godin, Hummels, Thiago Silva & Robertson,

In terms of quality, these players are of comparable quality to those you listed. It's just nostalgia that tells you they were far better.

Midfield, Scholes, Keane, Zidane, Gerrard, Kaka, Iniesta, Xavi, Lampard, Mascherano, Makelele, Pirlo, Seedorf, Vieira. Now? I’m struggling to name 2 that stands out, De Bruyne then who?

Modric (ballon d'or winner), De Bruyne, Kante, Silva, Busquets, Fernandinho, Kroos, Henderson, Kimmich, Pogba, Wijnaldum, Casemiro, De Jong and Fabinho.

Again, I think in 10 years time that neutral fans will look back on this period and these lists of players and reminisce that they were excellent Footballers.
