I could go on but Liverpools midfield could not live in that company
Yep, the front three van diyk, the full backs and the keeper are all really good players. The midfielder are just a pack of water carriers, credit to klopp for finding a way to win without any real midfield but it lacks the artistry i enjoy for me to rave about a very good kick an rush side in a very weak era

They are injured, they've had more injuries than all but two Premier League teams. It's a myth that they don't suffer injuries. It's just not the leg-break to VVD that you hoped for.

It's also not 'one or two seasons'. It's 3 as a minimum. They reached the CL final 2 years ago, they reached it again last year and won it, along with a record points haul in the league, this year they had the league wrapped up by Christmas and can now rest players for their European games, it'd be a brave person who rules them out winning the CL again. 3 full seasons competing at the very highest level.

I just don't see how, with that record, you can sit there and scoff at the three players who've been central to that run. Some bloke rang in talkSPORT the other day saying Henderson was basically Mark Noble and yet all the ex-pro's are tipping him for player of the year. It's quite a gulf in opinion, isn't it?.

There you go again, who said I wanted Van Dyke to have a broken leg, except you ! Pathetic again quoting what people aren't actually saying at all. Just keep making things up to suit your Liverpool loving agenda, I should expect no less.

That's it, mate, take that one very minor comment (made in jest) in isolation and ignore the rest of the post because you've been proven verifiably wrong.

Absolute rubbish Kieran, if that was a joke it was in very poor taste.

Okay, happy to retract that if you're happy to concede the actual point which was, they have had lots of injuries and Robertson & Alexander Arnold have not only played for 1 or 2 seasons.

Erm I will have to go on Google to check out your "facts" Kieran. Try not to take too much notice of Liverpool if I can help it, whereas you seem to be a statistical genius, when it comes to our lovable neighbours.

Why is the premier league so piss poor? We've been gash this season, we've lost 10 games, yet find ourselves 3 points off 5th place.

It just seems that over the last few years the prem has gone downhill.

It's cack because it's good, that's the short answer.

The longer answer has many pieces; there are more good managers in the PL than ever before; the "average team" is much better than before; there are more "average teams" than in prior years; the really good teams are much better than before. So what you end up seeing is a league that simply isn't competitive at the top and is very competitive from 5-15. And there is no longer any mid-table, unless you consider mid-table the 12 or so teams fighting for 5-15.

The thing with the title though is that city can still finish on a title winning points total. For every year apart from the ones they took the mick in terms of winning games.

I'd argue it's 4th downwards that is shocking this year. If the kopites weren't winning every single week then the league would be even at the top.

Everyone beyond the foxes are terrible

Not the only big draw as in paying large wages anymore, long time it was EPL couple of clubs in Spain and that was it. Now some french clubs China Italy Russians clubs throwing about the wage.

The pool of players is smaller domestically, as in most other sports, as they have other options.

What we have now is a system where every team is mainly made up of foreign mercenaries. The overseas stars were a fun novelty at first, but now it has swung way too much the other way.

I would much rather see an Everton team with mainly British players, but it is unlikely to happen.

it has happened at every club, and I think most fans do not like it. There is very little connection between the fans and the players any more. Add in the fact that most teams are lucky to have the same manager more than a season or two and it has just become extremely transactional.

Anyone who thinks it has been anything but a sub standard season in terms of football quality hasn't been watching too much football games this season or doesn't have eyes.

It's right across the board too, la liga has been dire, and even sub standard barca and real are still in a two horse race despite dropping more points they have in a long time because the teams below, like Atletico, Sevilla etc are also struggling.

Serie A has probably produced the more entertaining games but again the quality doesn't seem to be at a high level, but I'll still have a punt on Juve for the champions league.

Can't claim to have seen much bundesliga but again there doesn't seem to be any outstanding team there.

The French league is just woeful beyond belief, they should give the third place cl spot in that division back to fourth in Italy.
