Why does everyone want Heitinga to go?

i like heitinga and know he is a great player on his day. but its clear by his performances his heart isnt with everton.
when he has passion for a team he is as good as they come. but he wants out and has wanted out for atleast a season and a half imo.
its a shame really.

Thought he was boss a couple of seasons ago but really don't know what happened to him last season. Think we should cash in instead of letting his contract run down and end up getting nothing for him.

Do like his song though

Like Jelavic, I have the (possibly overly) optimistic outlook that they'd come good again. So wouldn't mind it if he stayed.

Heitinga's poor performances for Everton outweigh his good performances for Everton. Alas, he isn't wanted by anyone who's watched him since he joined in 2009.

He's been at the club for four years and "world class" performances from him have been few and far between despite some suggesting he is a world class centre-back.

Im sick of people saying Heitinga has attitude problems. He never hides on the pitch regardless of how crap he is doing and always makes himself available to the fans on twitter etc. He does seem to care too.

He is very erratic no doubt about it but i find questioning his professionalism to be laughable.

BUT HES A PHONY!

He was responsible for 7 goals in 3 games last season looked slow but did play only ok after that - he should never had been chosen ahead of Duffy imo!

Duffy would have handled Benteke better than Heitinga that day. Saying that, so would my ma.

He went from player of the season to awful last season; the main reason, the club tried to sell him behind his back. Loyalty goes 2 ways, from having his best season in our shirt to being crapped on from a great height probably had something to do with his attitude.

I think he may get a look in next year, Jags has already made a comment about 3 at the back and the need for the Alcarez signing to provide more cover. I like Johnny and hope he stays

To me Heitinga seems the perfect player for the Martinez regime. Is good on the ball. Calm and composed, and can also play in a back three or even sitting as a deep lying defensive mid. I could definetely see Martinez talking Heitinga into staying at least for this season and turning him into the player we all know that he can become. My only really concern about Heitinga at this point in time is the fact that he is apparently on a big wage. But if he can start living up to the potential we know he has it may just save us a couple of signings.
So in summing up HE'D BEE LIK A NEW SININ LADS!

I think it's mostly because

- He had some shockers last season

- Duffy and Stones are showing promise

- We could use the money
