Why does everyone want Heitinga to go?

Amen to that.
He was his usual gash self the first part of that season and came good for a few months towards the end. Always worth pointing out he was only the the Fans player of the season via an on line poll as well, Distin was the clubs player of the season that year.

I have always thought Heitinga was a nonse [Poor language removed] with a tackle like pee-wee

This is always a time in the relationship between a club and a player when for the best it is time to separate, that time is now IMO for JH.
