Why can't we beat the ****e at Anfield?

I remember arguing about this with ghost at the time.

I said that they had a good first eleven but a poor squad and if gerrard and torres weren't on form they wouldn't finish higher than 5th. Sold alonso, finished 7th next year. Case rested.

It takes a good team to finish 2nd in the Premier League, and that's all there is to it imo.

They beat United 4-1 at Old Trafford when they had a pretty solid team themselves. Ronaldo, Rooney, Vidic, VDS, Evra, Ferdinand, Tevez etc

I have no problem with Moyes in any home games against the 'big' teams. I was just saying that winning away at these 'big' teams isn't totally reliant on budget, as Laudrup has shown.

Yeah but if everyone beats them at home, they wouldn't finish where they do.

It isn't something that happens reguarly by the very nature of it. Every year there's one game at each of the big teams (arsenal, city, utd and chelsea) where someone from outside the league chasers goes there and wins and 14 games where that doesn't happen. With City the 1 tends to be us. The other three it tends not to be.

Tactically it can be beneficial to be the away team at a big ground. They are expected to come forward and play in the oppos half. I think that's what's benefitted Laudrup and Swansea. That and the fact they have tweaked their system slightly.

You could say that about playing a big team at home even. Cos they'll still come out and play in the oppos half as they go out to win the game. We play well against the sides at home that do this, it's the sides that sit back that we struggle against. Unfortunately we don't seem able to do the same away from home.

I know mate. I'm not saying we should be beating them all every year, I'm just saying that no wins in 11 years at these grounds is very poor from Moyes.

Next time Chelsea gift us two goals in a Cup semi final and then we lose to Bradford in the final you can use this.

lol, you sure like to spin things to suit your own agenda. Our FA Cup run this season was very favourable to us and we blew it, at home against arguably inferior opposition.

You may accept mediocrity for Everton, some of us don't want to.

It's not spin at all. Swansea would probably not have beaten Chelsea had Ivanovic not gifted them two goals. When has that ever happened for Moyes in his 11 years ? And when have we played a team like Bradford in the final ?

How am i accepting mediocrity ?

I think it's too specific a fact to bother me to be honest.

We're talking about the teams currently 1st, 4th, 5th and 7th in the league, you know? And ignoring a win on penalties.

You just look at the top three sides and we've won eight away games in that time.

Swansea beat them over 2 legs, and also beat the rs at anfield on the way to the final.

You could say that about any game. Would we have won the gosling derby, if gerrard hadn't have gone off injured so early and lucas been sent off?

You mean the second leg where Chelsea got a man sent off after 70 minutes ?

Using Swansea's League Cup as a stick to beat Moyes with is ridiculous.
