I saw my opportunity in Southampton and my opening line was " Alan Ball !! Part of the Holy Trinity !!! ". I'm not old enough to have seen him play, but clearly he recognised my Merseyside twang.. And he was sound as..

He is my dads hero, so I just had to get the crying thing in, and clearly he must have heard that loads of times before..

Sadly at least two generations before me, would have loved to see him play

I have loads of pics as a kid meeting the teams at Bellfield.. Do we still do that for family club members ? I was also lucky enough to be a mascot as a 9 year old !!

Played 5 a side with Kev Campbell, David Ginola, Paul Gascoigne, Davie Weir, Alan Stubbs, Scott Gemmil, Niclas Alexandersson... Saved a Paul Gascoigne penalty (although I've got a feeling he went easy considering I was about 8).

Quality that mate

I know mate, everyone was shocked but the fact I'd seen him not long before shocked me a lot. We'd played Bolton away that weekend hadn't we?

Was it that game? Or was it Arsenal? I remember getting home late from a game and then that being the first thing I heard in the morning

Decent 5 a side team that.. A bit of everything !

Kendall and Harvey. Sat next to Kendall at some dinner organised by L'pool Uni when I was a student and he was doing the after dinner speech. Howard's capacity for booze and then stand up and sound sober was astounding.

Chatted with Harvey once. Lovely bloke.

Mark Ward he is a funny guy, told us stories about him, Mo Johnston & H Kendall and some others.....he seemed like a decent bloke, down to earth, maybe prison does that to you...

Mikel Arteta
Tim Howard
Nikica Jelavic
Tim Cahill
David Moyes
Joseph Yobo
Marouane Fellaini
Leighton Baines
John Heitinga
Jack Rodwell
Tolos Vellios

Being from the states I'm quite okay with my list. Got the chance to meet em all in Chicago '08, Philly and DC '11.

Also met Landon Donovan many years ago when he was just a teenager. Talked with him more recently in '06 I think.

Good list that mate

Landy is safe as houses ain't he mate?

Coming back from an away match late 70's and the coach stopped in a service station on the M6. We went the toilet for a pea and suddenly in between us stood Bob Latchford. No mobile phones then. He couldn't finish fast enough when the fans surrounded him. Then he sprinted out back to the team coach. Wonder if the team coach stops off at service stations on the way back from matches now.

Haha good story that lad, don't think that'd happen anymore..

My list is:
David Moyes
Ian Snodin
Alan Stubbs
Tim Cahill
Phil Neville
Landon Donovan

Not the greatest by any stretch of the imagination!

Still a good list though lad, its a special experience meeting anyone like that

I went to a sort of training camp in Sweden aged 12 or something, Jesper Blomquist and Niclas Alexandersson were there as playing coaches and Glenn Hysén was there as a guest coach (his then 3-4 year old kid had to pee on the pitch).
I'm actually not sure if either had had their Everton soujourn by that time, but I remember nutmegging Blomquist during a game.
