Where's the pace going to come from???

The lad said he cant recall us being a team with pace...that's a short memory when in the last few seasons we had Barkley, Lukaku, Mirallas spearheading an attack with Baines/Oviedo and Coleman bombing on too.

That team would utterly ruin this one now.

You are deluded. Barkley pacy? Baines/Oviedo pacy what the hack. Last few season yeah right. You can't help to bring that up.

Yes we do need physical speed but im more worried about the speed at which we move the ball around.

I thought that was the gig Koeman was going for - more technical, quick thinking play rather than all out kick and run. A brains trust, if you will. I thought that's what signings like Klassen are all about.

The fact that he's 24 but looks like a 45 year old inmate at Her Majesty's pleasure has me worried. We'll come to sell him and we'll find out he's about 50.
Apparently his birth certificate is locked in the safe in Bills office along with Yakubu's

We've lost Barkley and Lukaku and Oviedo....the remaining Baines and Mirallas need a walking frame to get round these days and Coleman isn't coming back the same player unfortunately.

Face it, this Dutch lad is intent on having 8 CMs on the pitch and none of them can run successfully for a bus.

Which underlines my point about the feller generally speaking: he can't blend a team. And in particular he cant build an attack that functions. He seems to have a lot of ideas about paying for them and bringing them in but when he gets them he's clueless about where it all fits.

Early days yes, but we look an utter shambles.

Slow, pondering centre-midfielders are to Koeman, what wingers were to Martinez.

Pace isn't the concern it's speed playing the ball and off the ball movement. DCL made a big difference when he came on by getting on the last mans shoulder and stretching the defence. Before that it was a combination of everybody trying to play "in the hole" or occasionally drift wide. If you're gonna play 3 at the back then the wingbacks need to get forward and the midfield and forwards need to give them options. Baines did it a few times but the options for him were lacking and he ended up going sideways or backwards as he's not quick enough to go past players these days.

Not sure how Klassen, Rooney and Sigurdsson are gonna fit in the same 11. Getting just Rooney and Klassen in seems to upset the balance of the team right now. Early days though and there are the occasional glimpses that if it gels it might just be boss. Seems to be a lot of falling over as well?
