Where's the pace going to come from???

I'm getting quite worried about the lack of pace in our side. How can we stretch teams with players we have at present.

I can't recall Everton known as a pacy team. Lukaku is quick for his size. Barkley is not pacy at all. We have lost these two suddenly people moan for the sake of it.

Counterattack will be less effective if we lack pace, I can imagine 12 games this season against TOP 6 side that we need to reply on pace when we tend to sit deeper and having less possession. 12 games is 36 points that's up for grab.

Pace alone is not the killer blow, it's combinating lack of pace and lack of players willing to dribble that is the real problem. Our approach is very restrictive now. Made even worst by no winger or wingback overlapping often enough.

In short, our approach is too narrow and limited.

Spot on mate. No width or pace at all. Klassen Rooney Sig all central and not exactly electric. Mirallas has gone stale and Bolasie is out until 2018. Without a couple of fresh legs on the wings going to struggle to break teams down

As has been pointed out in nearly every post........ we need pace. The signing of Bolasie last year seemed to me to be a stopgap measure to address this problem, in much the same way that Williams was for defence. The problem being that while Bolasie has pace to burn there is a lack of ability when crossing the ball.

Demarai Grey would be a fantastic winger if we can get him but I also believe that Onyekuru has bags of potential and that will certainly make a difference next season when he leaves Anderlecht. Check out his footage on youtube. Sorry guys I just dont think Bolasie is the answer, and his signing seems to have BK written all over it.

Mauricio Lemos (Las Palmas) also looks like a prospect. Cracking CB with pace who likes to get forward, as mad as that sounds.

Last night was as dull as dishwater but we ground out a victory, not pretty to watch but a win is a win.

Onwards and upwards.

It's all been a bit to 'safe' so far, but it's early days. Agree we need some pace but there's more pressing issues such as a target man and a defender that need sorting.
