When Did The Rot Set In?

To the point of relegation? Day we signed alex iwobi. Rotten fake player who is the epitomy of Everton now. Real statement signing of future disaster.
You drop Iwobi into Newcastle's squad, and he's a perfectly fine player! Newcastle have bought 5 or 6 perfect players to enhance what they already had, which Howe has done a great job with.
We bought 3 number 10s and no centre forward in our first big money window

Combine that window of Klaassen, Keane, Rooney, Sigurdsson, Sandro & Tosun & Walcott in January with the summer we finished 5th

I think Moyes had recovered us from the PL era running away from us to build the best of the rest, Martinez added a bit of star dust to that with Barkley, Lukaku & Deulofeu, but we then had to build on that.
Obviously the only funds available were the funds to buy Lukaku permanently for £28m (which was basically the Fellaini money from the year before, plus the £12-14m we got from selling Anichebe & Jelavic (good squad players). We only added Besic that summer! Thats when the likes of Stones/Barkley/Lukaku probably knew........this club ain't going further than were we have got them

This is a great point, I remeber all the hissy fits last season when they thought Rafael was going to bring Longstaff in, who now is a really good player for Newcastle, under a manager a lot of blues didnt want......

Although no one admits it the rot really set in when the club chose to sell Gary Speed and keep Howard Kendall.
We chose the old ways and not the new footballing ways in that incident, it’s been downhill on the footballing side ever since.

Lets see who comes in for him. I will have a private £50 bet with you absolutely no current top club will go near him. Isn't just his constant giving the ball away. Cant cross to save his life failures. Its his lack of real hunger.
Honestly some Everton fans views of this fraud amaze me.

What ?????

Behave, Moshiri bought an Everton with a squad better then anything we have seen under him, swamp? Our squad included these players

Tim Howard
Leighton Baines
John Stones
Phil Jagielka (captain)
Séamus Coleman
Steven Pienaar
Romelu Lukaku
Kevin Mirallas

Not one one single point wince have we had a squad as good as that
I know you need to nit pick to prove your point and keep alive the Bill is great WUM but I wasn't remotely referring to the first team. Also Pienaar, Mirallas and Howard were past it when Moshiri came in. Jags was also getting on. Most left a season or two after.

How can you not refer to the first team, the squad is the most important part of the club, without a viable squad we are nothing .... like now

They all know there jobs pretty much!
What they have done is got a spine full of leaders and quality. Botman Trippier, Bruno Guimeres, Isak, Pope etc make the likes of Joelinton, Schaar, Almiron & Longstaff better!
Just using Longstaff as an example, he knows exactly what to do and has Bruno next to him for him to give the ball too at every opportunity. (Lee Carsley anyone?)

Its almost as if there has been a lot of thought and hard work put into it instead of different people just buying different players

Who would of signed Joelinton 18 months ago!

I agree Iwobi can't cross! But thats because he's not a winger!

What about always give away possession cheaply(leicesters 2nd goal) he does it a lot. Or that he never goes into a 50/50 challenge. I mean you dont have to be a winger to actually cross a ball. It helps i suppose but that doesnt mean you have to fail miserably with every attempt.
Tbh mate i think he hit Gold Everton coming in for him. i dont see any single club with the options to buy in a competetive market touching him with a barge pole.

He is one of Nigeria's biggest names mate, he will get a move abroad somewhere fairly easily I would think.

Interesting point this, could be something in it too but its too hard to think anything bad about Kendall, since he will always be our greatest. Same with Sir Philip Carter, cant have anything but respect for him, even though he was one of those who set up the Premier League and then the club he was part of stood still

I mean you'd think a professional footballer can kick a ball with his favoured foot in a good enough way after a 10+ year career, but apparently only wingers cross ever and no one else.

If you really want an extreme example - Messi and Ronaldo, both famously not wingers, cross the ball quite well. So can Benzema, also not a winger.

In fact, Sigurdsson could cross quite well despite not being a winger. Weird how that be, almost as if it's a technique issue and not a position issue lol
