Recruitment.

The money we have spent has not been spent wisely. The pure sums on their own have meant that expectation has risen massively amongst fans, the media and the club.

This is now having a multiplying affect, where it seems a lot worse than it has been previously because we never really used to spend too much money and we used that as a bit of an excuse.

'Plucky old Everton' turned into 'the Sleeping Giant' almost overnight but without really changing too much. There is no way Moyes would have been sacked for the form Koeman was. I think we have been the makers of our downfall, expecting too much from the start of the season without really knowing what we had brought into the club.

That and keeping Osman on at the club as an ambassador the little bulb headed snake.

A fan base that mixes impatience and a sense of entitlement with complete apathy.

God awful recruitment by a DOF that is a flash in the pan chancer. A Chairman that is at odds with the new majority shareholder and who wants to cultivate the perpetual underdog mantra rather than push us forward.

Poor commercial direction and strategy that's left us flagging behind clubs with much less on the pitch success and a weaker brand.

Being the neighbours of a more successful team.

I don't think it's one factor.

We need a manager who is tactically aware also who can identify what type of player fits into a certain position (the correct position)
just been reading that Sam is talking about summer recruitment etc !! good god does he really think he has a future here it's like a bad dream that never ends with this club

We need a total rebrand.

New crest, refreshed colour scheme, new corporate font and a new motto. Get a brand agency in for a consultation quick sharp.

Once that's sorted out, there is nothing to stop us from dominating in England and Europe.

The only true constant has been the board (Moshi excluded). Therefore logic dictates they are to blame. How is open to conjecture.

Being as pragmatic and neutral as I can be, it has to start at the top. Woods/Kenwright/Elstone all need to go. They have been 'overseeing' the most unsuccesful period in the clubs history. There is a valid case to be made that there stewardship is what caused us to be where we are today. You can't have a billionaire pushing hundreds of millions into a club and still have the mindset that a) "this is a family" or b) plucky ole Everton.

Next stop is Steve Walsh. The DoF position is supposed to represent continuity. The one who says "right, this is the way we want Everton to play". The ethos, so to speak. Managers coming in should be adhering to the ethos. The DoF then should be getting in players to represent that. When Martinez went most were stating that we really just needed someone to change the defensive mindset and continue with that style of play. Then Koeman came in and changed everything to us being a 'crosses in to the box for a big grock' type of team. How the hell that was even permitted is so beyond me. The complete and utter failures of the last couple windows is easy for all to see.

And, finally, Fat Sam. Needs to go. Bigs up his "brand" of being a relegation saviour. We just spent 50m in about a week ffs. Don't really want Silva but anyone has to be better than what he is serving up.

Should never have got rid of the beehive badge.

It was rubbish but it brought results.

Joking aside I hate our font.

The money part is irrelevant, he says we are in trouble yet we are still bringing in players he wants. He's playing a 'woe is me' card at completely the wrong time.

They are only words.

Martinez was all "we are the best team ever", Koeman was all "whatever" and now Allardyce is being a misery.

The results are all the same in the end.

To be fair he has said all along he needs to get rid of players to bring new ones in too.
