What if Moyes had today's budgets?

Would Everton have won more under Moyes with today's spending power?

We had some really good teams under him, it was just that final piece which was missing that always seemed to be the striker.

Made him run the channels like every other forward he brought in. It was like Sgt Major Moyes' version of square bashing.

Pretty sure his crucuate ligament injury finished him not Moyes. Also Arteta and Pienaar has more flair about them than any of the cowards that came since. He gets panned for long ball football despite having the midget gems and playing two of the best attacking full backs in the league. 07-10 was our best prem football without a doubt in terms of quality and style.

Champions League qualification money = on debt. He spent what little he got of the Rooney money too.

Lescott money with not much time left = Distin (excellent signing), Heitinga (player of the season, then went bad, got money back when sold iirc), Bily (statistically one of the most productive goals pg / assists pg winger s we have had, forced out by Neville the sweaty bully)

Bought Pienaar and Arteta for the cost of Klaassen's left shinpad.

Excellent work.

He didn't spend any Champions League qualification money because we didn't qualify for it...

Subsequent frauds are educating the non believers on what a good job he did. Europe on a sell to loan transfer policy and crucuate ligaments popping left right and centre. The bloke was a genius.

Great player, but ain't gonna win you a premier league.

Would take him back in a heartbeat.

Perhaps just a European and domestic trophy then, like he did last season.

Quality players like him and Rooney can play in several positions. Fellaini could play defensive mid, centre mid, just behind the striker, and on occasion even played as our centre forward or filled in at centre half. Crap players like Davies and Klaassen MUST be played in their exact favourite position or they instantly forget how to kick the ball.

He got his well earned semi-agricultural reputation because he'd always eventually revert to a big diagonal from the halfway line to Fellaini/Cahill for a knock down. It was primitive stuff by and large. Yes there was class a player or two in the 11 years he was here, but you'd expect that over that period.

Someone fetch David here another STFU sandwich

Mate I rate Fellaini very highly.

My point is that if I was at the richest club in the world, and looking to build a squad to retain a title, he would not be the player I desperately spend a whole summer chasing after. Would he get in the City team? Only in rotation.

If he leaves on a free, he will join the PSG squad.

His signings didn't excite me and I don't think he would make any difference now. 2 months after he left us, Roberto Martinez showed Moyes how to conduct business. Lukaku, Deulofeu and Barry on loan and McCarthy to bolster midfield. I know some signings were poor but Martinez seemed to have more pull than Moyes ever did. Lukaku would never have played for Moyes.

Technically, he was after Essien, Cech et al, before they made big moves, so he could spot a player, I just don't think he could organise an attack well enough- although, his last few seasons- if we had a Vardy or Costa- woof, we'd of certainly been a lot closer to top 4.
