What if Moyes had today's budgets?

Would Everton have won more under Moyes with today's spending power?

The reason Moyes spent £67M in his only season there and not the £107M that LVG spent in his first season is because he bolloxed up the summer transfer window and dithered so much he couldn't get his players in. He denied himself that resource.

But besides that, he inherited the best players in the land: United where champions and by 11 clear points from the previous season. He had class at his disposal and finished them 6th.

That answers all the questions on whether Moyes could do better with greater quality players then he had at Everton when he was here.

I get your point but I do think Ferguson over achieved with those players in his last few seasons, that Utd team weren't as good as people thought, they just had a legendary manager that could get the best out of them.

Moyes should have done better but even LVG couldn't get them winning either.

Got them CL qualified again and a trophy.

He was with us a long time, of course there'd be moments like that. But he was a poor distributor of the ball and all at sea in keeping shape in a midfield unit.

He wasn't a Paul Scholes I will give you that. I've seen worse footballers (on the ground) he was exceptional in the air and he
gave his all for someone not in anyway affiliated with the club prior to signing.

There are plenty of Everton players who deserve slagging off more than him.

He put his blood sweat and tears into Everton. I'll always have a soft spot for Moysey, wherever he goes (almost)
Any Evertonian slagging him off is an utter know nothing tool!
Everything that's happened to us since he left just shows how good he was for us.
Oh and United was always going to be a poisoned chalice, whoever went there after SA

Okay cheers mate. Be interesting to compare his pre and post signings on this basis.

I'm not slagging him off. I'm underlining the fact that Barry was said to be poor and Cahill a better footballer than him.

K'nell mate, do some work will yeah

What Moyes achieved here considering his net spend was nothing short of fantastic.
He was shafted at United by the inept close season performance of Woodward.
He produced some really good sides on a pittance.
Totally agree...yes he chatted wham when he left but for what he had he did well

Not EVERYTHING that has happened has been bad, season after Moyes left we had a fantastic season. I still stand by thinking it was the right time for him to go and would never want him to come back. I totally respect what he achieved when he was manager though.
