I just watched the 20min highlights and although it wasn't the whole game from what I saw Funes Mori is a terrible defender who makes mistakes regularly which create goal scoring opportunities for the opposition!
Lucky the keeper was on his game!
Sell Mori! Sell now!

What a stupid idiot you are

Take the win and 4 points so far as we are rebuilding on the run.
Two goals conceded though this season from headers from a cross and a corner. Still a concern that needs fixing. Still no clean sheets, that needs fixing.
Sitters missed to seal the win. Needs fixing.
Encouraging, but plenty of things still to address, and, 3 or 4 new quality footballers required in the outfield.
I still think this is a player problem more so than a coaching one. mori is decent at attacking headers but our back line just simply struggles in the air. Holgate, Baines, Coleman, Jags are routinely beaten in the air even if they are marking the player. Mori seems to loss is man. Hopefully Williams and Kone (if we get him) can help with this

Great Win Today!

Some Positives:
Mason Holgate with a MOTM performance. Think Koeman likes this lad.
Great subs by Koeman. Lukaku on in the first half for Mcarthy changed the game.
Bolasie had a very good debut. Could of/should of had two assists.
Stekelenburg continues to impress, made one particularly vital save.

Some Negatives:
Deulofeu playing the CF role against grocky defensive teams like WBA just isn't gonna work. Koeman should of perhaps predicted this.
I'm still not entirely sure what Barkleys best role is. Still love him though.
We need to kill off teams and put away these big chances (rom and barkley). At 2-1 up, it felt like WBA were still in it right til the whistle.

Tbf I could of wrote more positives and the negatives are relatively minor. The second half was particularly boss! :pint2:

Barkley seems to have taken up the incisive passing a notch this season - kevs goal, releasing bolasie to set up lukaku which should have been a goal etc
I think thats his best role - the link between our front and backlines
Should have scored his header but last season he wouldnt have been arriving in the box for it so thats improvement

My ratings, for what it's worth

Stek - 7 - Bit weak for their goal but overall really good again.
Holgate - 7 - Looked better at right-back IMO. Played really well. Don't see the need for RB back-up with him in the side.
Jagielka - 7 - Another solid performance from him.
Mori - 6 - Looked dangerous from set-pieces at their end but too often he's too weak in a challenge and dives in recklessly.
McCarthy - 5 - Couldn't get into the game at all though in fairness wouldn't say that was his fault. Just the system didn't work.
Baines - 7 - Looking back to his best, IMO.
Gueye - 7 - His debut didn't look a fluke.
Barry - 8 - Best player on the park yesterday.
Barkley - 6 - Sloppy on the ball at times and missed that sitter. Lovely assist for the goal though.
Mirallas - 8 - Great goal, put in some really good deliveries from set-pieces and the pressing game suits him.
Del - 5 - Not his day.

Bolasie - 6 - Really promising debut. Should really have had two assists.
Lukaku - 6 - Gave us something to hit up top.
Williams - 6 - Made some really good tackles at the end.
