Match day income is too low

Match day income is the same as last year appr. 17mill. I'm not sure, but seems too low and is an area of improvement (= new stadium).

I am saying Goodison is now a stone around Evertons neck and we cannot keep treading water to compete and keep it going. Goodison is inadequate in too many ways. I do not like it, and I do not choose this situation, but for all my resentment and all my wishes and prayers I/they cannot change it.
Those with their head up their bumhole jabber on about the kings dock, what a crock of pooh, we cannot turn the clock back, why focus on something impossible?
Lets move forward, lets see more cash in the club so we can mix it with the bigger bullies.
Please, lets not choose to die by doing nothing.

Another thread going way off topic and allowing more bleating about kirkby.

Come on mods. Sort it out :D:D:D

all i will say on the matter is this....

the manager and players have lived up to the task of being a manager/player last season.

elstone has lived up to the task of being ceo in the past season (record turnover)

the chairman and board .............nice blokes granted , but they are not pulling there wait or hitting the standard required and they must do better or move out imo.

imo there all a dead weight.

ps ...wheres all the money go ?

well it goes to the bank as its funding our years under tbh/kenwright ... we will be paying for the next 25 years aswell as running up even higher debts just trying to compete.

i think im right in saying we are close to £80 million of debt (it was around 20 million when tbh took over).

Interest on debt, wages, travel, academy, security at matches etc, etc. Even 10-15%? of the money we get from selling players goes toward agents (speaking of which why does an agent need 3M on a 20M transfer, I'm sure any old lawyer could draw up a contract for a couple thousand). You could go through millions pretty fast.

Hell that 12 plus million we got from finishing 5th that doesn't even buy you, (now I'm sure he's a nice player but..) Steven Defour today.

Everton has 26mill i debt, rising 16 mill last 3 years (source Sky). The commercial income was 5.46 in 2008, when L'pool had 41,8 mill !! So its clear that we need to extend our commercial income dramatically and get to Champions League. Then we are leveled with the red scum.

When Bill stepped in and took over from the vampiric Johnson, the squad was full of Gemmills and Pembridges. The value we have built in the squad currently is responsible for a large chunk of the increased debt we find ourselves in. We do not smash our transfer record 3 years running without there being a cost somewhere. Half a mill a year on the Goodison steel. Wasters like VDM. Interest repayments, new loans, refurbing our store, the new store in L1. Very poor decision to sell out to JJB.
When do we renegotiate shirt sponsor? That there is an indication of 'our place' specifically how much we get compared to our peers.

We did that last year.

There's several examples of where other clubs are miles ahead of us in this respect, and not just your Man Utds. But one thing Moyes has done is improve the team, get us toward the right end of the table and into Europe. This is the best way of increasing our exposure, our reputation on the global scene, and close that gap. It's up to the board to make the most of the oportunities Moyes is giving them, which gives Moyes the oportunities to improve the team again. Hopefully.

I can understand your being critical of the jjb deal, but I think it was driven by desperation somewhat as we had previously actually been losing money trying to run these operations ourselves.

Do we really spend £500k per annum on steel? Are we stock-piling it for the new stadium?
