It a huge next appointment, the next manager will be left a very talented squad (though somewhat incomplete) and superb infrastructure, but they will need to close that gap on the top four quickly, or like us be absorbed into the uncaring arms of mediocrity

Yep, they've had some boss players, look who you have had to miss out on that 11, likes of Winterburn, Keown, Van Persie, Ian Wright, Fabregas......even there below top players like Llungberg, Parlour, Reyes, Kanu, Lauren, Wiltord etc were a level above what most teams have.
