Wenger Leaving Arsenal

Just had a go at picking a best Arsene 11. Actually difficult. They’ve been spoiled with some ace players over the last 20 years or so.

They have had great players, but given how long ago the majority of that team actually played, it gives a good indication as to why Wenger stepping down probably is the right thing at this moment in time. He will rightly go down as a legend, but for me he hasn’t had a truly great side since they won the FA Cup in 05 then reached the CL final a year after. His defensive recruiting has been really poor for a while as well. The way he managed to combine the defence he inherited with the star talent he brought in when he initially arrived was fantastic, but he’s struggled to find that balance for a while. Still though, if we manage our stadium move as well as he managed there’s then I’ll be happy.

It a huge next appointment, the next manager will be left a very talented squad (though somewhat incomplete) and superb infrastructure, but they will need to close that gap on the top four quickly, or like us be absorbed into the uncaring arms of mediocrity

They won’t mate, Wengers appointment will leave a vacuum the club/team will struggle with a loss of distinct identity and years or structures will be messed about with. You can’t have no change for so long then have so mmuch in a short space of time. It’s enivitable. They won’t be relegated but they will slip into the pack, they should be in our sights to overtake.
