Wenger Leaving Arsenal

I disagree

I personally prefer the Man United side with the Class of 92 core

It is a matter of personal preference, but really until someone else goes the whole season unbeaten in the league then I think anyone will struggle to say that a side was as good as they were.

Also Piers Morgan hates him, which is perhaps the biggest indicator of soundness that there can be.

Had to happen. Can't argue with the Highbury days but he has become a pale imitation of himself and eventually they had to put it to an end if they want to be a title challenger again. Can't say I liked Wenger much (thought he could be too arrogant) but he'll go down as such a legend

if they get this right this could be the rebirth of the Arsenal

They were crap in the cups though that season

Man United may have lost some games but they won a treble in 99 whilst seeing off both Wenger's Arsenal and a very good Chelsea side

That's more impressive to me tbh

I also preferred watching that team play. It was proof you could play 4-4-2 and still win stuff

that 98/99 United side was certainly luckier than any of Wengers teams - Bayern completely evertoned the final, Arsenal should have beaten them in the FA Cup semi and they only lost the league by a point

the 97/98 arsenal team were for me the finest prem team, the midfield pairing of petit and viera was incredible till petit had his head turned, I'm convinced that utd would never have raised their game to win the treble without that arsenal side first raising the bar, I think gary neville said it's the best side he played against, both those teams would go right through todays city side by the way, what an era that was
