Well, quite! But you have to remember he is our superstar manager and he says what he wants and we are lucky to have him.

The real message is delivered by Sharp et al who must have sore necks from agreeing with everything the club does and help manage down expectations, after all how can we compete nowadays... Meanwhile we have watched Birmingham, Swansea and Leicester amgonst others pick up trophies. (n)

Look at these comments from Southall:

How can you have someone around the club that has that mentality? jeez might start winning things and you know how hard we have been avoiding that!

I would love nev at the club...assuming he could actually be a good coach obviously... was mearly Ponting out that he is to outspoken but our manager gets away with far worse ..

Unfortunately I don't think Big Nev has got what it takes to be a good coach/manager, he had a couple of shots at it and he just falls out with people too quickly. Although I think his time teaching kids since would have probably helped him in that aspect, he is better out of it as I hate to see people I care about go through all that stress etc.

I totally got you regarding Koeman and I agree. Kenwright for too long has just had jobs for the boys who just agree and won't speak their minds regarding the running of the club. It's obvious that Southall needs a job and it would be great to see him employed in some capacity to speak to guests in hospitality, tell some stories etc. and maybe even be available to have chats to players to tell them what this club is all about, as the manager doesn't seem to be doing that. All without necessarily needing to praise everything that the owners do and say though.

Keepers today are not anywhere as good as keepers from the past IMO.... southall, seaman, schmicheal, grabelaar even Tim flowers was a decent keeper.... I suppose cech and Neur are in the same sort of style as them... but cassilas, Valdes, cortouis? Na... not for me... de gea is good but I would still rather have schmiechel... seaman and bev...

Casillas was world class over 15 years, just thought id get that in there :D The only keepers other than Iker I would call world class is Buffon, Khan, Schmeichael and Van Der Sar.

Off the top of my head I cant recall too many keepers that have been class over a prolonged period of time, maybe even Van Der Sar left it late to move to a European giant ?

Casillas was a world class something alright, just not goalkeeper. He had the habit of making the most routine stops look like worldies. He was a good shot stopper but that was about it for me.

I once saw him in Cardiff city centre. As a proud Blue and Welshman I could barely contain myself. I bounded over to prostrate myself before him but when I got there I realised he was having an absolutely BLAZING row with his wife (or so I assumed). Proper screaming in the street, both of them.

Legend in my eyes. Complete legend.
