Why do you think he took him off? For a laugh? Almost making out it was personal.
He as a manager made the call. If niasse had came on and made a hug error he would have to take it on the chin.
He made a decision as a manager. Whats the big deal.
I think if he brought Niasse on and he put in the same performance he wouldn't of brought him off.

Why was he hooked in the end? Couldn’t catch the match.
Take your pick from the raging Twitter bellends hot takes.

1. Cos hes black:

2. Cos he's lazy:

3. Duncan hates him

4. He's unfit:

5. He was 'blowing out his arse' after 10 minutes:

6. Duncan is trying to 'look hard':

7. Duncan is trying to make his mark as interim manager:

8. He wasn't following the game

9. Duncan wanted to 'waste time':

So really, just make up anything and go with it tbh.

Haha - the big man looked like a naughty schoolboy when he tried to claim it was “a substitution just to kill time” afterwards! lol

You are right, I might be misreading Duncan’s motives based on their after effects. I just giving my take on it.

Having said that, if it was not an opportunistic move to draw a line and the sand and make a power play then it may be worse. For it would possibly show he cannot contain his emotions in the moment, and is prone to rash decisions.

Either could be issues for him going forward as a manager. Let’s not forget, one of the benefits of coming through the leagues is it allows you to make mistakes out of the public eye.

Id like to think it was just a case of hes not doing what i wanted.
Personaly i think its being blown out of proportion. Mourhinio hooked eric dier the other week early in the game for the benefit of the team. He made a big thing about apologising to dyer. Can argue about that because mourhino is far more experienced and did the PR bit straight away to defuse anything that may come later.

Was he a starter though? While rare, it is more often seen that a starter gets an early substitution when playing badly.

A sub being substituted is as rare as hen’s teeth.

Based on what? Thats a big comment. What are you basing it on.
I'm basing it of the rarity of bringing a sub off after 20 mins with 5 mins to go.I just think his performance didn't warrant a substitution with 5 to go. If Dunc does the same with others who are seemingly not putting a shift in then i'll respect him for that.

Mad how when guardiola hauled Henry off at Barca for not following instructions he was lauded as a ruthless, tactical genius devoted to winning games,
Dunc does it and he's a nasty idiot....
If it can be done to a world cup winning, multiple trophy lifting world class striker, then it can certainly be done to a 19 year old kid still adapting to the league

Yeah, having him in the touchline feels like a random Evertonian managing the team, ofc as an ex-footy player he knows way more than fans but still very passionate and emotional. two-edged sword

he’s going on adrenaline, the longer he stays as interim the sooner he will lose a game, and there will be questions about bad tactics or lineups or subs, whatever. That’s all fine and as it should be.

He might be not ready for the job or tactically naive.

the confidence and fight in the side was below zero after Anfield. Beating Chelsea was excellent but if you’re looking to find fault you can say it was just due to whipping up the home crowd. Why that’s not a good thing to do in support of an effort to win is beyond me but ok.

Going into OT with a decimated side, losing two on top of that to match day illness, to use players out of position just to get anXI, putting players in the match day 18 who haven’t had a sniff of it in two years and are still only here because we can’t offload them even on a free, facing a side with better quality at most positions higher up than us in the table, at one of the most intimidating venues in the game in its heyday.....

coming out of that with a point, and having the better of it for significant stretches-

The team now believes it has a fighting chance to beat the second best side in England and get to the cup semis. The job suddenly looks like a much better job than two weeks ago.

tl;dr I don’t give a f*** if he’s using voodoo dolls

So. Let me get this right. In a game thats 1-1 in the 90th minute. A manager makes a call to bring someone off he feels is the weaker part of the team. His feeling that hes the weakest. Not mine or yours. His. Does he go hold on a sec. I brought him on as a sub. Im going to take off a player i feel is doing more because he didnt come on as a sub.
