Each to their own. I use our fantastic history to pipe down any know nothing fans trying to belittle my club because they read and listen to modern day media who would have us believe City are a superior club. Spurs too.

If you can't boast about what you've won then what's the point.

Maybe I am happy in my skin and others are not. I could not care less what those you dont know, think they know.

No Sunderland don't, as seen on Saturday, only lower section taken in a relegation battle is pathetic. Chelsea have been champions of England 5 times no way does that make them bigger than us. Without the cash injection they'd be stuck on 1 title, but still 5 it is. Villa are the biggest of those three and very close to us.
Careful. I hope people start saying similar when we start winning titles again.

It's pub banter.

Some sort of article has prompted a 10 page thread, its relevant. Even UTD fans could wait to boast that the league cup pushed them ahead of RS in overall honours. I'd say the vast majority of fans of successful clubs care about what they've won and will use it when comparisons are made.

Yeah, of course. But I just laugh at folk bringing up pots won 100 years ago to "prove" a point.

Everyone knows that traditionally, Leeds get bigger crowds than Bournemouth, are, by any measurement, are a "Bigger" club than them, but the splitting hairs on 2 reasonably successful historic clubs to prove an internet point just bewilders me.

Each to his own I guess.

Both Chelsea and villa have won more trophies and a Europe cup each. Sunderland are not far off on trophy haul and have a bigger fanbase

Quite simply, they don't. They average more than us at the moment because they have had their stadium move and we haven't. Before that time, they were averaging 15-17,000 at Roker Park. They also give loads of tickets away for free, have cheap deals for £10-£20 and their normal match tickets are about £25-£35 and aren't obstructed like 5,000 of our seats are.

Everton are 5th on the post war average home attendance list and have slowly over time been dismissed by neutrals who because we've been suffocated by a 22 year trophyless spell and an ageing stadium with limited capacity believe we are an also ran fanbase. Before City and the RS expanded recently, we were one of only 5 clubs who had averaged over 50,000 in a single season. We are 4th on the all time record attendance list and whilst the RS boast a record attendance of 61,000, we got 70,000+ crowds on many occasions. The RS' best crowd wouldn't even feature on this list and these are facts:

When we get our Stadium move (and all being well some success with the Moshiri takeover) this country will see how big Everton are and how big our fanbase is. We will leave clubs like Sunderland, Villa, Leeds etc behind and will be back amongst the best attended teams in England.
