I think at this stage of his life the profit motive is secondary to Usmanov
He has more than enough money
As someone else posted now he wants the ego trip , the power , the kudos and acknowledgement that he owns and controls a top PL side
He wants his legacy to be seen by all not just a name on Forbes rich list.
If someone says Jack Walker to you do think steel tycoon or do you say that’s the chap that made Blackburn rovers league champions
That what Usmanov wants

Well he's not gonna achieve that with Ashley Williams and his motley crew so I suggest he gets his roubles out smartish

I get the sporting and romance argument, its a nice thought, i think its fairly speculative myself and unlikely. These lads arent in this for the romance in my opinion. Especially if he is in collusion as some kind of consortium anyway with Moshiri, which is suspect he is. It doesnt make much sense cutting his Arsenal investment and coming to Everton. It would be a massively poor decision, that these lads simply wont make, albeit we would be happy with it.

I’m sure Abramovich’s accounting dept are not too happy with the 800 m pounds that Chelsea owe their boss
I wouldn’t say they are happy with the new stadium costs either but it doesn’t seem to bother Roman too much.
He has also spent years trying to buy a few townhouses in a row in NYC to build the biggest mega mansion in the city
A lot of money for something he will rarely use.
It’s not always about profit and loss

If that your belief mate, fair enough. I dont think a comparison to Abramovich is relavent or a smoking gun to be honest.

Think its massively unlikely myself for the reasons ive stated.

Usmanov is a significant share holder of Arsenal. His business partner Moshiri is set to be the majority shareholder of Everton. No doubt the lads talk about football and their clubs but the only collusion we'll ever be allowed to prove is them swapping stickers for their Panini world cup albums.

Just like Brands was 'secret' and Silva is 'secret'. The new Everton will reveal all when it's in their interest and all the itks and smoking guns won't be proof of anything. This is my take on Everton at the moment. So even if Ali sells up, and we get an Uzbekistan flag run up above the USM Bramley Moore Dock Stadium it'd be as difficult as it was obvious to trace Usmanov's involvement until he rocks up in the Mersey in his luxury yacht.

Not that he's coming...

There’s no smoke without fire, I believe at some point in the next few years it’ll be clear Usmanov is the main man at Everton. Have always felt there will be a happy ending for us Everton fans after all the heartache and humiliations.

It depends on what motivates him now. Is he motivated by making even more money ?
I remember listening to a journalist talking about a politician who was also very wealthy some years ago.
They made the point that a truly ambitious person is first motivated by money and becoming rich but the first thing they lose interest in is money, because they see how easy for them it is to make it.
They are still motivated but by different things and quite often it is power which nudges them towards politics.
Usmanov already has more money than he could ever spend and we know thar his ambition was to own Arsenal in the way Abramovich owns Chelsea but Kroenke seems to have stifled that ambition.

Usmanov taking over Everton and building the club into a footballing force is of course wishful thinking on my behalf... but , certainly there have been signs and rumours which indicate that it isn't completely fanciful.

TBH I have no idea what drives a multi-billionaire but I can't believe that he's satisfied with £700m invested in a football club and it doesn't get you a seat on the board or say in it's running.

I do think that as his mate Moshri starts to enjoy owning Everton by calling the shots, building a new stadium and getting the positive exposure that follows Usmanov will start to think I want something like that. Getting rid of the Arsenal shares won't be easy but spending it on Everton will be easy.

Hah, he will roll up and park his luxury yacht just at the dockside, come on land and go to the front of the stadium to cut the ribbon.

You heard it here first.;)
