If you can’t beat them..join them. Do Chelsea and city fans honestly care that they have been bankrolled by Roman and The Shiek? Not one jot. Their younger fanbase have experienced success they could only have dreamed about prior to their respective arrivals. As I have alluded to many times our younger fanbase deserve success. My lad will be 25 in less than a weeks time! He’s been going to the game since he was 5 and has seen Everton win the sum total of sweet naff all!

I’d love him to witness and be a part of some of the stuff I have been lucky enough to see particularly in the mid-late 60’s and the 80’s!

To be honest mate, I have been fortunate to witness us win the trophies in the mid 80s, however countless thousands of fans can’t even remember our fa cup triumph of 85, let alone us challenging for the league.
If nothing else I’d love someone, be it usmanov or whoever to bankroll us to challenge and win honours again. It’s nothing more than our younger fanbase deserve.

Living round here my son is surrounded by city and united fans. He’s 8, he often asks me when Everton will start winning things like city and united as his friends are used to success. I keep telling him, when we do eventually win something it will be far greater and mean more than the disappointment at present. I just hope I’m right!!!

Dunno if I cba mate, funny how people think a conviction in 1980 was legitimate and fair, and the pardon and clearing of any charges later was a sign he was guilty and corrupt though.

He's probably dinevliads of shady stuff, don't think what he was sent away for was me if them though, neither was the trumped up raoe allegations.

What I do know for certain though is he made the vast majority not through the same manner abramovich and other oligarchs did, which was exploiting the Yeltsin mess and the workers shares being able to be bought for a loaf of bread almost from them due to companies not paying them wages


He also managed to take back huge assets stolen by some of those from companies like gazprom etc, which ultimately was good for the state and the people, bad for oligarchs and western "asset grabbers".

Own opinion on the bloke, think actually he's far preferable to nearly every other of the oligarchs, his image in the west though us coloured heavily due to him being 100% one if if pns closer allies/friends. Most of the others have bent as much over to the us as they can do whilst staying at least on ok ground with Putin.
