Contrary to what Andy Gray said, I would like to think we could pick up successive wins;

17th AEK Athens (Home)
20th Blackburn (Home)
23rd Hull (Away)
26th Portsmouth (Away)
1st BATE Borisov (Away)
4th Stoke (Home)
17th Wolverhampton (Home)

Before you start saying "Burnley and Fulham...." - Burnley were flying after winning Man Utd and a Fulham away defeat is routine.

I think today will kick our lads right up the arse - like Wigan away did last year.

From our next 5 Prem games I expect 13 points.

Opinions?

As long as hibbert and osman is drop i'll be happy!

Back to topic, if we don't win the next few "easy" league game to climb up the table, we will be in deep [Poor language removed] when we meet to top 4 teams.

Blackburn and Stoke. No.

The rest. Yes.

And I think we need to start winning them comfortably in that time because its the big guns soon and they will tear us a new arsehole...

Spurs and Man Citeh will then open that arsehole up and have a field day inside it.

I agree.
I'm even going to rep you for saying it better than I could have.

There needs to be a lot of work done on the training pitch - the team looked like strangers today, some players arent winning their battles and the defence needs to learn how to work as a unit quickly - team are making far to many chances against us. The midfeild needs attention i dont care if it isnt preety it needs grit and solidity teams are cutting through like a knife through butter. Fellaini needs to start, Rodwell as much as i think hes a phenomnal talent needs to dip out of the team at the mo, hes not influenceing the game enough.

We need to win our battles, become difficult to break down and give ourselves the confidence and platform to go on from there.

Key thing in the above games is that our quality shines through but to do that we must match those teams in our individual battles and earn our right to play.

for me its as s imple as this if we ( efc) realistically want to finish in the top 7( yes not 4) and qualify for europe again next yr we need 15 pts from those games anything short and we r no better than the low to mid table crap thats in the prem

17th AEK Athens (Home) 2.1 W
20th Blackburn (Home) 1.0 W
23rd Hull (Away) 1.0 W
26th Portsmouth (Away) 1.0 W
1st BATE Borisov (Away) 1.1 D
4th Stoke (Home) 2.1 W
17th Wolverhampton (Home 2.0 W

The new players have hardly stepped foot in FF a win against Blackburn and I can see us going on a winning run Heitinga needs a full game next match and illy at least 45 minutes. It can't get much worse can it?

So Arsenal was Lescotts fault.

Burnley was because they just beat Man U.

And today was cause we never win at Craven Cottage. (Well apart from 4 months ago).

Can't think of an excuse for Blackburn so reckon we're gonna win that one.

Our quality shines through? We can't even do the basics. We struggled to keep the ball every game this season. If you keep the ball, pass and move and look to play then you won't have to get involved in physical battles and be pinned back as much as we do.

Keeping the ball is the best form of defence, that's always been the case. If the opposition team hasn't got the ball he can't hurt you. People won't cut through us if we do the basics.

Fellaini probably does need to start, mainly because he's good in the air. We may aswell throw Cahill upfront aswell and play two fullbacks outwide who get stuck in and are gritty.

Thing with playing Fellaini now is that its all about hoofing it up to him.

Today he came on, took every hoof on his chest and tried getting the ball to his feet. If he got it to his feet in the first place, he does more. He was the only player to open up the Fulham defence today...which I'd never think he could do, but he was the only one that did it.

Fellaini is there for set pieces at goal and to hoof to as the second option. 1st option should always be to his feet.

But that goes without saying. Should happen to everyone on the pitch.

I'm just hoping that Osman or Pienaar get a run in the middle now, especially with Bilyaletdinov here. We've got options and it's very clear that the balance is all wrong.

I fully expect to see Rodwell, Cahill and Fellaini back in there though.

By the time he got on they were desperate, you could see it.

But he does need to start. We play better with him.

I could not agree more !
