Decades of apprenticeship at the hands of a Jedi master though. In all honesty, Mary Sue Skywalker is only one of the new trilogy's many, many problems.TBF I believe there's supposed to be a gap of several years set between episode eight and nine.

Episode IX should be titled "Operation Retrofit"
Force Awakens was pyar garbs, TLJ was flawed but good. Hopefully they wrap it up well, but I have little to no faith in Abrams
I think you are a bit of a collectors item here. I can't see many putting the last jedi ahead of TFA.
At least it didn't trash everything that came before it like TLJ did. That's a truly awful film. Its the only star wars film that I really dislike.I put many films ahead of TFA, one of the laziest rehashes I have ever seen. Garbo
I even care more about episodes 1-3 than I do about this set of films. At least with those films Lucas set out because he wanted to tell story. With these films you kinda don't even know what story they're trying to tell.
The original trilogy was genre defining, it moved cinema ahead as an art form. I even care more about episodes 1-3 than I do about this set of films. So little of the story makes any sense whatsoever. Holdo/Leia not telling Poe the plan, Space Monaco, everything about Benicio del Toro's character, the handling of Luke's character, killing Snoke without explaining who he was etc etc
I enjoyed it too. The last one kinda spoiled it a wee bit though. AwfulGenuinely rank Revenge of the Sith just behind Empire Strikes Back in my list of favourite Star Wars films, thought it was effing ace when I saw it in cinema first and still do. NEA
Did they explain anything about the Emperor in the OT?
