I honestly don't see how he can.

TFA wasn't good at all - it was a direct remake of ANH, but with far less interesting characters. And because the plot was so easily recognised as a direct remake, we all knew what was going to happen once we were about 30 minutes into the movie, which denuded it of any thrill or suspense. It is frankly terrifying that despite this, it was still better than TLJ by miles.
