Understated heroes who have made huge contributions to EFC.

David Moyes.

Hero isn't exactly a word i'd use to describe him but I think he made a huge contribution to the club and it's understated. Look at where we were before he arrived, look at how mediocre/poor we've been since he left (other than one excellent season under Martinez). Our ambitions now, with far more resources available to us is to get back to where we were under David Moyes.

In Kendall's ill fated third season Big Dunc was worth his weight in gold, and he didn't have a player as talented as francis jeffers to help, good shout on mentioning Gough, he was also excellent for a short period, and a terrific leader as well.

I dont think he was talking abour gough in a good way mate

Timothy F Cahill.

He embodied everything I love about football. He oozed that positive auzie winning mentality. He’d fight to win a throw in like his life depended on it. He looked after his teammates. He was a dirty little barstard, but clever with it. Never complained when he got kicked, just got on with it & paid back with interest. Like the anti-mirallas really.

While I share your admiration for Tim Cahill, I don't think he's under-rated by Everton fans. I'd say he's one of the most popular players to have played for us this century.

Good pick, matt jackson funnily enough contributed alot to that cup win. A winner against derby i think in the early rounds, the opener against spurs at elland road and a good bit of play for the build up to the goal in the final
I remember jacko hitting a screamer in at Bristol after they'd battered us,was it hinchcliffe late on with the winner v Derby?
