I fully understand Ukraine fighting back and attacking Russia itself - but sadly this brings us closer to the Hawks in the Kremlin using this as an excuse to escalate - but then apparently I am scaremongering.....
Every time you post about scaremongering I have visions of you dancing in the street while the nukes are dropping saying "SEEEEEEEEEEEE I TOLD YOU".

Speculating daily about the ever increasing likelihood of a nuclear apocalypse with zero knowledge beyond what you read in the papers is kind of the definition of scaremongering

Azovstal fallen. If the land corridor is now obtained and Russian territory is being hit, is a ceasefire in sight?
Let's hope so. The current Russian refusal to further bolster their invasion could be seen as a sign they want to call it a day.

I'm sure the hawks want the killing to continue.

Every time I see him post about scaremongering I imagine him hiding in the cupboard under the stairs saying "Mummy, please make them go away".

Still mind boggling to me that Russians only mobilized 150 000 or so, for this invasion. They are actually outnumbered by the defenders.

I just don't understand why such a little number, even here in my country (Croatia) of 4 million, in the final offensive of the war in 1995 we had like 200 000 troops (with CIA and US intelligence backing).

After seeing the fiasco with their comms, I'm surprised they risked going in with so many!

asked this to pro Russian friend of mine a few minutes ago, his response:

''The reason is very simple. Mobilization means not just more troops. Mobilization also means the death of normal economy.
This war will go into economic territory soon. And preserving normal economy is paramount.
Cold season will come in no time and Ukraine will greet it with no food or energy or fuel. 150K is enough to keep it going until then ( and yes, some reinforcements are being readied ). Cold season will do the rest. Putin does not want to just militarily defeat Ukraine. It needs to be obliterated from within.''

:( they are playing the long game

Then why not keep hold of the nuclear power plant?
