Wouldn't nuclear winter happen and almost the whole world population ends up dying?

A lot would die. All those left would have a significantly deterioration in quality of life.

Potentially it's a humanity ending event. If enough "smart" people survive we could come back as a species though.

On balance we'd probably be better off not going down that route.

It's been kicked off with Putin. He wants to dominate smaller satellites until he can't. Poland realizes this more than most.

TBF causing division like this was probably part of the reason for kicking things off; the EU has people travelling at different speeds and almost in different directions, all with very real national interests behind each move (Poland with its safety, Hungary, Bulgaria and Germany with their energy needs etc).

The difficulty for the EU is accomodating them all, which is possible but which will require a lot of unpleasant compromises (like for instance over this roubles for gas thing), as well as rapid fixes for these problems. I hope wise heads prevail, rather than listening to our cretinry or for that matter the Ukrainians. European unity is vital now and it must be protected at all costs.

I am assuming the pictures are taken from a drone? But the precision of the ordnance that is dropped from the drone seems very accurate. Does anyone know if this is just achieved by the operator or there is some kind of guidance?
