• Russian forces will likely continue attacking southeast from Izyum, west from Kreminna and Popasna, and north from Donetsk City via Avdiivka.
• Russian troops and aircraft will continue to pound the Azovstal facility, and Russian officials may declare victory in Mariupol even before the facility is fully cleared.
• Russian forces will likely increase the scale of ground offensive operations in the coming days, but it is too soon to tell how fast they will do so or how large those offensives will be. It is also too soon to assess how the Russians will likely weight their efforts in the arc from Izyum to Donetsk City.

So the big question here is whether or not opening up another front will overwhelm the Ukrainians or not. A good way to think about what's happening here is through a chess analogy - the Russians have a material advantage and their kingside attack (Kyiv) has stalled, so they're pushing queenside. The Russians may be playing like amateurs, but a GM will still lose to an amateur if they have to spot them enough material.


Rather convenient accident for a political/military leadership that didn't want another war, if you ask me. Hardly conclusive evidence, but one wonders.

I'm not too sure the US had another couple or 4 nukes actually ready to go post Aug 1945.

Never gonna understand why any Slavic people going around idolizing Nazis, considering what Germans planned to do.
Yes, yes, at first there was lot of people who greeted German army as liberators in Eastern Europe, especially in Baltics and Western Ukraine (that was ruled by Austrians until 1918). But then Germans started to kill everyone indiscriminately, and majority of population opened their eyes. If German army actually treated friendly population better, instead slaughtering everyone, maybe they would beat Stalin, considering that millions and millions hated Soviet guts. But then Nazis wouldn't be a Nazis.

But anyway there are still annual SS remembrance parades in Latvia, Estonia, Western Ukraine, but they usually get ignored in Western Europe.

I mean lets be honest, French gave them opening with their shitty behavior in their former colonies in Western Africa. France basically still got their former colonies by the balls, controlling their currency (still French Franc there), i believe even gold reserves of those countries are stored in France.

I read what France doing in West Africa often described as neo-colonialism, but usually their dealings in Africa rarely get reported here. Africa is ignored continent.
