If it is true that Putin has been imprisoning his own high level intelligence and military commanders then one wonder who is left to remove him? But that’s my hope too, that a group of high level officials are wise enough to know that nobody is safe under Putin’s cruel grip of power, and be brave enough to remove him, or poison him, as Putin has done to so many people in the past.

Thanks for that mate. Seems reasonably objective. I know the first casualty of war is the truth but there is no doubt in my mind that Russia is out to destroy a country and its innocent people for some sort of imperial motive. 12,000 refugees don't just arrive in Ireland for economic reasons. Their lives are destroyed. God knows where their husbands and fathers are.

If he is not stopped he will destroy a country of over 40m people and then who is next? Like Stalin he is also prepared to have thousands of Russians die in his cause. Are we heading to the end of days with this maniac? How anyone right centre or left can possibly justify what Russia has done is incredible.

I agree. Putin is evil and he doesn’t care about destroying completely to the ground another country along with all its people. He has gotten away with it at other times. I have said it before that as this conflict prolongs Im afraid Ukraine is going to turn into another Syria. That’s why it is crucial for NATO to arm Ukrainians for this next phase of the battle. Putin is not going to stop, he doesn’t care about a peace deal he needs to be defeated.

It is insane the ideologues that are being propagated by the far-right and their media. Tbh sometimes I look at the state of our country and I fear that we may be having a civil war in the coming years. One thing that Putin has done very effectively in the US, and in other western democracies, is to undermine faith in our system of government and to create great political divisions among the public with his own propaganda. Now Putin has achieved another of his objectives, a part of the America public approving of a foreign foe instead of supporting their own country. But they are the “real patriots”, just like Trump.
