I’m not going to sit here and encourage some Tin Pot country to put world war on the agenda.
So you're going to advocate encouraging and allowing some vile dictator to invade a sovereign nation and potentially causing the death of many Ukrainians?

Do you think he's going to be all nice as pie with them afterwards or arrests and persecution? There won't be world war as he will not take on NATO, never.

we are doing nothing thats the point.

not enough to prevent him anyway.

so lets avoid deaths, eh?

There will be mass sanctions. In hindsight, that's not enough but it's the best we can openly do. There'll be clandestine measures, but you said no to those?

We have to support Ukraine in defending their territory; nobody, including myself, wants deaths, but I do feel that Ukraine needs to stand up to their foe.

if there are clandestine measures that will just prolong and extend a terrible situation, in no way will that resolve it.

they will never be able to free themselves from Russia - the geography, and language, doesnt permit it.

Thoughts with Ukraine and it's people - so sad to see the kids and families going to underground stations and the like to try to escape the worst of it. The loss of innocent life will be heartbreaking if this escalates, but I hope the Ukrainians defend themselves and fight.

NATO and our response has been pathetic, and Ruskie hibbert has been enabled for so long by his "friends" in the west who have been profiteering from the billions of Russian dollars flowing into the UK and in particular this corrupt government - he's practically bought our democracy with this shower of crooks in power.

One thing is also clear from all this - sanctions won't work, they never have.

During war, the rich get richer and the poor get poorer or die - there will be many, including those in the west, who will be rubbing their hands together & laughing at what is happening.

I detest our so called "leaders" and what they all stand for.

A terrible situation for who? Once the military stage is over, that's not the end for the Ukranian people - they'll be dictated over, oppressed and persecuted.

Their terrible situation will continue while you may think the world has gone back to normal. Maybe your crypto will stabilise, which will make you happy.

If they reduce the effectiveness of the Russian war machine and political regime, it may provide Ukraine leeway in terms of their defence here and now.

In the long-term, it may help the Ukrainian people continue to fight against the country that has invaded them. This is the invasion of a sovereign nation.
