Russian govt flight probably en-route to Washington to pick up more expelled diplomats.

The article I posted said what you are mentoning. The issue is that currently we have no further information to say how it panned our except a vague article.

The likelihood of this is slim - very, very slim. Russia are struggling in Ukraine, so they won't want to be upsetting anybody else any time soon.

As @Mutzo Nutzo mentioned, it's likely to be picking up a diplomats or dropping some off.

@Mutzo Nutzo potentially another aircraft has been down today, with reports suggesting it is an SU-30 brought down by a MANPAD.

Now, they'll need to be verified and always taken with a pinch of salt, but images from today alone would verify a few of the supposed downed aircraft.

Reports are for an Su-30SM multirole aircraft, an Su-34 strike aircraft, two Su-25s and at least three different helicopters coming down.

It's part of the fleet of aircraft used by senior government officials. It could be moving someone to or from their embassy or possibly a delegation.

Putin is not going to be happy if these are recently donated (from EU countries) weapons that are downning his planes and helicopters

This is Lavrov remember…the talks will be along the lines of, remove the sanctions, let us get away with Ukraine, and we won’t bomb Finland……unless he’s got Putins head in a box I doubt anything will come of it…but who knows, maybe miracles do happen……
