This is just my opinion but I'd agree with you on that. I think there have been isolated incidents of far right attacks on Russians and Putin has taken full advantage of this for his propaganda campaign. But persecution is wide of the mark.

It's more of a question of how its viewed by Russians - I appreciate your partner may have a more moderate view - I can assure you large numbers of Russians do not. If its the effects of propaganda, then hes been 'successful'.

I mean i doubt Putin after committing largest army in Europe since WW2 just gonna walk away after 4 days.

Also i doubt Ukraine gonna accept his demands about turning away from EU and NATO.
This just seems strategic pause to allow Russian army to regroup and prepare for massive offensive.

I understand your point, It is a complex issue but kev’s “persecution”comment is utter rubbish.

It really isn't. It a particularly thorny nettle that needs to be grasped. Recriminations need to be tackled if they arise and problems nit allowed to fester.
