I think the first thing that would make me think that wasn't genuine would be the EU flag being portrayed as that of NATO.

The "lifelong socialists" I know don't pay much attention to right wing Tory mouthpiece rags like the Mail and Telegraph, except as a source of derision.

Maybe the Davek account's designated handlers in the Labour and Ukraine threads (who I now assume are Fiverr freelancers) need to communicate a little better over the character they're trying to portray. Just what is his motivation?

Freedom from tyranny in exchange for some currently buried minerals is a no brainer.

It is, but a lot of care needs to be taken with the agreements.

My home state of Western Australia is one of the largest producers of buried minerals and oil & gas in the world. We also have one of the lowest rates of royalties globally.

The royalties we do have means that despite having a population of 2 million people, WA still has a budget surplus of about 5 or 6 billion every year. That's surplus, not income.

I doubt Ukraine has anywhere near the volumes of ore that WA does, so they need to ensure that they can apply sufficient royalties to their produce to reap proper benefits from it.
