I have struggled at the start with Davids and I see he still can’t see the forest for the trees. Not sure his thesis besides ol Puty taking control of all of us.
The problem is that anyone who actually points out any of the non-pro Ukraine news gets labelled as being a pro-Putin potato munching fool. This thread is actually less critical than most Ukrainian sources about the invasion and how it's going. If I looked at this thread, and only this thread, then I would probably think that given a bit more support and a few more up-to-date weapon systems then they'd have a chance when in reality it's a grim attrition killing thousands with little chance of any change in the near future.

I think the problem with a certain poster is that they spend most of their time sniping and degrading the content others post whilst posting similar (if not alternative viewpoint) as being accurate.

This results in posters deciding not to engage in debate with the miscreant and instead decide to rip him.

If posters want to debate and offer an alternate viewpoint then that’s fine by me but if @davids just wants to snide and wind up folks then it’s open season as far as I’m concerned.

Trolls get spotted quickly in this thread, no matter how they try to spin things.

It is a tough situation for both sides. As mentioned many times before, this conflict will only truly end with a full Russian withdrawal. Even if Zelensky or another politician were to surrender or agree to cede land for temporary peace, it's highly unlikely that the over half a million battle hardened Ukrainians would simply fall in line. It’s reasonable to expect the emergence of insurgents or resistance fighters, and the bloodshed would likely continue. Russia would clamp down hard, with torture, rape, and assassinations, as they are now, and the next generation of rebels would be inspired to keep fighting.

If Putin wins or secures anything he can spin as a victory, he and other dictators will feel emboldened. Russia and its allies would continue to destabilise Europe and the U.S., pushing societies further to the right until democracy, as we know it, is either lost or must be fought for, likely through a world war.

That is what many who post in here understand and rightfully pat the potatoes on the bonce when they pop up.

Lad you're in no position to worry about democracy or the right, when you refuse to condemn a far right governments slaughter of innocent people.

Nobody is going to take you or the pro Ukraine supporters seriously.

What is plan B then?
Call a halt to the fighting and negotiate a longer term agreement with NATO guaranteeing Ukrainian sovereignty within new borders?
Even if and it's an enormous if Ukraine could retake the Donbass and Crimea it would bankrupt them trying to police them. The other alternative isn't worth thinking about.
