You made the mistake of posting about wanting peace.

Wanting peace in their view is saying "Go on Putin, onward to victory in Ukraine...then the Baltic States then western Europe"

You just cant reason with such people. They're heavily invested in researching war stories and weaponry and military strategy. It'd be appalling for them if they had to put all the toys away and peace was reached.

To be fair mate, it's not like this war is costing hundreds of billions and we are taking money away from pensioners or kids on benefits to pay for it or anything.

Or it's not like Israel aren't commiting far worse offences, openly cheered on by our government or anything is it? We are the bastions of peace, just ask the thousands of innocent kids murdered in the middle east from our "friend" and "strategic partner".

Hamas & Hezbollah can’t win that fight so they might aswell just give land over & let Israel “win”.

it’ll save thousands of lives. #Peace #Love #WeAreTheWorld

We believe in Ukraine's right to defend itself. You do not. If the Ukraine did try to negotiate a peace deal (if such a thing is possible with vermin like Putin) everyone on here would support that. Meanwhile, you're itching for Trump to get into power to hand Ukraine to Russia on a plate. You've gone full stooge and it's sad to see

Everyone has a right to defend itself. Not everyone has a right to keep demanding billions of pounds from our country, when we have an acute cost of living crisis. Frankly that money can be far better spent than allowing Zelensky to keep larping being a war hero.

I always find it funny as well, all this insistence to keep arming Ukraine to the teeth, but barely a joy of concerns for innocent kids being murdered in the Middle East. Funny that, isn't it?

it's fair to say that people are more concerned about their own neighbourhood than stories from the other side of the world. Poor as that may be it's a natural reaction.

They'll love you for that!

Oh ok. So your argument is that a conflict that is 1750 miles away is my "backyard" but the conflict that is 2,200 miles away isn't my backyard? And that we should have totally different value sets around life and liberty based on it being about 300 miles further away?
I'd imagine you'd be more concerned if the house next door but one, for example was on fire with the risk of spreading to you than if you read about a house fire on the other side of the world.

If don’t stop Russia now it will cost far more further down the line

I read this thread quite a lot but didn’t post, I don’t really know enough of world affairs to do so, but what I do know with as much certainty as I can that the conflict in the Middle East will never be resolved without a massive leap of faith by someone on either side. Watched a report on tv the other day were the reporter said that Palestinian’s are born and raised to kill Israelis, and I assume it’s the same on the other side of the argument. With that mind set can anyone see an end to the conflict ?

But my point is I would be equally unworried if a house 1800 miles away and 2100 miles away was on fire. Or committing atrocities.

Id probably be more concerned about which house has innocent children dying.
