Build up of troops on the Ukraine-Belorussian border seems to have Kyiv worried.
Russia asking questions to Ukraine about how they deploy their troops. Kursk is a big gamble as it is, but if it your enemy is potentially bearing in on the capital city then it's not worth a damn.

Ukraine is obviouusly trying to manage this. Last week, Ukraine were insisting they didn't see any build up even after Belarus announced that they'd done it with claims that Ukraine had sent drones over their airspace as justification. Even if Belarusian troops aren't up to scratch, there's a healthy smattering of Wagner PMC in there to make them a trouble if they go in under a legitimate or spurious reason. Ukraine will have to be clearly avoiding anything that brings Belarus into this.

God knows what Ukraine have in terms of defensive lines against invasion from the Belarus-Ukrainian border if any.

It's clear the Ukrainians are desperate to escalate this conflict. They are struggling to stop the advance of Russian forces in the east and the whole of Donetsk oblast is there for them after Pokrovsk falls in the coming days.

The incursion into Kursk might be followed by an incursion, under pretext, into Belorussia in the hope of drawing in NATO boots on the ground. That's how I see it. Kyiv is losing a grip in the east of Ukraine and they cant hold that line any longer. There's going to be a big decision to make soon by the West on further use of long range weapons targeting maybe Russian cities (because the Ukrainians wont just target military dumps and bases).

This could escalate very quickly from here if the West cave in to Kyiv's demands. Then we're all in trouble.

Russians targeting dams; Ukraine within range of shelling Russian nuclear reactors.

This is a rapidly deteriorating situation and the need for a negotiated settlement is crucial if this isn't to escalate into a regional disaster and a European-wide war.

I really dont think that some on here are getting that message. Let's hope there's wise heads in Washington and Moscow who realise the vortex were heading toward and stop this all happening.

Wise heads in Washington and Moscow? You have more hope than me in those having any sway.

The Belarus forces are few. They have no cope cages fitted to their armour and they have no EW support. They wouldn't last 5 minutes against a Ukranian FPV brigade - it would be a turkey shoot.

It's all a bluff - Lukashenko is a prize shithouse
