Bit late to the party and don’t want to take it off topic again but the Hood and PoW were the only two ships theoretically available. Tovey was on the KGV and took Repulse and Victory to cover the Faroe Islands and Iceland, which left the other two to go toward Greenland.

The fact that a shot penetrated the aft of the ship and exploded the rear magazine was pure luck, the fact that the forward magazine exploded too was down to bad practice from the RN, they had more cordite than was needed on the ship.

I like to think that Vlad and Zelensky are both in their respective war rooms waiting on news on the Hood and the Bismark.
