The Ukrainian Government are puppets of the latter and have been doing their bidding since 2012.

It is binary when it comes to the discussion of the Ukraninan people defending their land till the last. They do not want Russia to take their country. The politics higher up are for another matter. The ground level really is that simple, they are dying for their homeland.

Looks like massive snowfalls are going to freeze this war soon enough until the Spring at least.

When Antonina Danylevych's husband enlisted in the Ukrainian army in March 2022, he had to line up at the draft office alongside crowds of patriotic countrymen.
I think it's fair to say that this piece in Reuters underlines the level of demoralisation amongst Ukrainians over the conduct of the war and whether they are being led by the right people.
One stand out stat: Trust in the government has tumbled from 74% in 2022 to 39% now.
Matters of illegal 'recruitment' of fighting age men and corruption in avoiding conscription by those who can afford to do that, as well as lack of rotation of men to the front and a general feeling of funds being seized and pocketed by military chiefs and politicians for their own accounts is tipping this war against Ukraine on the home front. And the Russian barrage to come this winter will weaken their resolve even further.

Ukraine have no ammo, no plan, no hope.
What remains of Ukraine is no longer a viable state. As it stands now it will takes generations to recover and that will depend on all the exiles returning.
There's a need for a negotiated settlement. Maybe the ball will get rolling during the OSCE meeting.
