It appears my subscription has been cancelled by the site without communication despite me already paying for the month.

For the reasons @tommye outlined I was not going to renew however this seems like a rather spiteful action.

It's rare it happens, but whenever anyone threatens to cancel a subscription - I cancel and refund it. Always have, always will.

While donations are appreciated, I'll never, ever allow them to be used as a bargaining chip or threat. "I'm going to cancel unless...." Nah, you're ok mate. I'll just cancel and refund it.

Nobody on here, no matter who they are get preferential treatment over anyone else. Whether they've been here 10 years and chip in a few quid a month, or whether they've been here 10 mins.

There is lots of great contribution in the CA forum and this thread. It would be a shame for all who are active in here if we let a couple of WUMs cause issue.

Self moderation is key. Literally no one is forcing anyone to read any poster here...

Democratic nations have no choice but to respond and stand up to Putin and his authoritarian cronies. If Russia lose in Ukraine there is a chance to undo Putins work and those he has brought onside will not be so willing for war. If Russia wins WW3 is an inevitability IMO.

You have to wonder just what these scumbags talk about when they get together. ‘How many innocents can we murder today?‘. And there are posters on here defending Hamas ffs. Pity their plane didn’t ‘accidentally’ blow up on the way to Moscow.

This thread is getting ridiculous now. I’m all for arguments from both sides and have said so all the time, I don’t put people on ignore and I pushed as hard as anyone to get the CA reopened with self moderation. But I’m afraid that Kev the Rat is derailing it so much now, while trying and succeeding to be as obnoxious as possible that something needs to be done. It’s become a chore even reading this thread now, when it used to be a wonderful source of information.

Everyone seems to be putting people on ignore. Could I ask that @Kev The Rat tones down the obvious Russian bias and obnoxious posts a bit, or could @roydo , @RAFUH or @GrandOldTeam have a quiet word with him/them.

Interesting interview with retired General Richard Dannatt.

The two stand out points are that the counter offensive looks set solid now and will be strengthened again in the winter, so Ukraine need to find another way...by bombing Russian towns and cities! But he also talks about the end game here and what will probably result - he believes - in a Korean Peninsula type of ending with no peace deal just an observance that things have come to a stalemate.
