I think the newly declared republics will only seem home for LPR/DPR troops and there’s not many of them left.
Ukraine will feel very alien to troops from Buryatia Altai and Irkutsk.

In relation to the LR missiles. I can see ATACMS being used for selected deep strike missions only. For all other work the GLSDB’s will fulfil the role,

They have a Range of about 93 miles. They can be launched from aircraft (su24/25), the F-16’s when they arrive or land launched via HIMARS/M270 or they even come in custom launchers fabricated from ISO containers.

They’re very cheap compared to ATACMS/Storm shadow and very stealthy. The US has a mass surplus of them so supply won’t be an issue - already thought to be in-country now.
👍

an acknowledgement that the west has probably taken this as far as it can

The stories that have appeared lately over supplying Ukraine (and ones that highlight them getting their own arms industry) indicate something's changed.

They simply would not have appeared a few months ago.

Drove through central London on Sunday and there were some Ukrainians who’d set up some tables and banners with slogans like ‘free Mariupol’ as part of an attempt to stage some kind of protest. Unfortunately for them - and as I said this was central London with loads of people around - the best they got was a few looks from passers by. Literally no one but the organisers was interested.

Yeah I think the initial fervor has well and truly died down. People now understand how unlikely and how costly in all senses ‘freeing Mariupol’ will be. And quite honestly, they’ve quit.

I dont even think it's down to UK consumers being concerned about the war and its effect on their pockets. It's just the way people are in these days of 'the spectacle' and the 24 hour news cycle. These vacuous people are simply looking to move on, 'bored' by it all.

If you have to change history to justify what you are doing now, then you are well aware what you are doing now is wrong.

Russia has accused Gen. Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukrainian Military Intelligence (HUR), of terrorism. He has been charged in absentia and placed on an official wanted list.

The acts of terrorism refer to more than 100 drone attacks on Russian territory

Another BS report from the war porn Guardian.

Russia will conduct a nationwide test of its emergency public warning systems on Wednesday, blaring out sirens and interrupting television broadcasts to warn the population of an impending danger.

The test, first conducted in 2020, is part of a new initiative that requires authorities to conduct tests twice a year, starting from 1 September, Reuters reports.

It comes, though, amid the war in Ukraine which has triggered the deepest crisis in Russia’s relations with the West since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

At 10.43am Moscow time (7.43am GMT), sirens will wail and stern announcements demanding “Attention everyone!” will alert the public, mimicking what would happen in a true disaster or catastrophe.

It's been done since 2020 but now it's all about the Ukrainian War.

The muesli-eating war mongers. No credibility since MI6 made them smash their own hard drives on the floor of their own offices.
