A bit of back story, I'm not a physicist or a mathematician but I work in the world of higher level math/physics publishing.
We work with a lot of Russian and Ukrainian professors and to a person, they'd laugh at the idea that the Ukrainian language (possibly incorporating certain Russian, English or even French terms) cant handle advanced Physics.

You dont have to spend that long in a dictionary to see the billions of French, Latin, Greek "words" that are routinely viewed as English over the passage of time.

One example I found just now, doing the crossword. The Greek God tormented by temptation was called Tantalus. In English, that is now Tantalise. The SA languages are heavily Portugese/Spanish based; I am sure that the ancient languages in the UKE part of the world have similar bleeds between them.

It's also interesting and probably an aside but up until the 19th century, most of Russias aristocracy spoke and learned through French. Most universities though through french. They only knew enough Russian to converse.
I'd imagine lots of the great Russian Mathematicians and Physicists used a variation of French or Latin in academia.

Interesting story. Russian heli crew defected to Ukraine in order to get a cash reward, but then the pilot murdered his companions once they landed in order to not split it lol

Other reports suggest that only the pilot knew they were 'defecting', and the other crew were neutralised (killed) when they realised something was amiss.

It also suggests it was part of an intelligence operation to retrieve the cargo, which are parts of modern jets. But, as always, the truth may be somthing else.

I’m sorry Kevin, I’m quite interested in languages and teaching but can’t find any source for this anywhere.
Is Ukrainian really such an ‘undeveloped’ language that it can’t be used for teaching? Have to say I find this all hard to believe.
How they're teaching any pilots let alone fighter pilots to fly safely seems a miracle, and I'm so fick I can't even start up the drone I got as a gift let alone manage a high speed one into the hull of a battleship...

What? They dont have the textbooks to teach certain courses in Ukrainian, plus the language isnt developed enough to cope with it in some cases. There's nothing questionable about that. In time im sure the language will develop fully.

For example could you teach certain university courses solely in Welsh for example? I dont know - maybe/probably not.

But the Welsh government wouldnt ban English and thereby prevent those courses being taught in Wales.

It would be ridiculous.
Pickin fights with Wales now, is no one safe....
