After wwii, do the West requested Germany and Japan to pay insane compensation like after wwi? No, because they don’t want history to repeat itself.

So it’s apples and oranges.

After WW2 the US (which as the UK were hocked up to the eyeballs to them was basically the West) just used Germany and Japan as oversized military airports. I was in Okinawa one year to see their regular peaceful demonstrations trying to get them to leave,but after over 70 years they are still going nowhere.
