Without reading that in full, I presume Zelensky is being purposefully misquoted to make a story here.

Zelensky would be signing the death warrant of millions of his own citizens by ordering in a conventional NATO strike on Russias capability to wage nuclear war.... Not that Nato would ever do it under any realistic circumstances.

One of the preconditions laid out in the Russian strategic policy that would authorize a nuclear strike from them is any conventional attack that targets the nuclear weapon syetems or command and control facilities of Russia.

It would be impossible for NATO to ever completely disarm Russia of its nuclear weapons in total. They have thousands of mobile stategic missiles whos exact whereabouts are indeterminable, not to mention the ones hidden under the ocean in submarines. There would always be enough russian nuclear weapons remaining to render the planet (including Ukraine) uninhabitable in retailation to any conceivable strike by NATO.

This concept is the essence of deterrence. Both sides have had a guarranted second strike capability since the early 60s, and that is what kept the balance of peace.

Meduza wouldn't misquote Zelensky, especially to show or portray him negatively, besides one of their senior ministers has already tried to walk the comments back with "he was saying what they should have done pre February, not what he wants them.to do now"

Hard to fight a war when Congress refuses to pay for it. Our system doesn't work the way yours does, which is why people are concerned that a Republican House might defund assistance for Ukraine.


They'll run out of tanks quickly at that rate. They have plenty they could restore, but that costs. If I lived in Vladivostok, I would seriously consider relocating.

A lot and I mean an absolute shed load of new equipment is being transported to Western Russia every day mate, rumour has it for a very big counter offensive from Russia come the ground freezing over.

Right now they are prioritising giving ground rather than hold at all costs. Out of necessity no doubt, but interesting how much losses the Ukr are taking as repeated assaults take their toll on any attacker. So far the Russians seem to have avoided any significant encirclement with their current tactics also. Guess the next three months will show much clearer the state of play with each army.

A simple fact that as soon as the West embraced stepping away from "experts" and began demonising the "establishment" we became more vulnerable.

And Putin not only thought he benefitted from that instability he clearly spent millions on Internet promotion to achieve his aims.

Trump and Brexit were both based on lies and played to the lowest common denominator. We are now all seeing what happens.

But you cant see that. Hes relied on people being easily manipulated into putting their time and energy into blaming and hating their neighbors for the behavior of a mad dictator.

The origins of this war are multiple. Putin destabilising the West and the right wing politicians effectively arguing for an overhaul of the whole establishment (whatever that stupidity is supposed to mean) is one factor.
